Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis

All our CAPD systems are based on the proven stay•safe technology which means they are equipped with PIN and DISC technology. In the following we explain key features of the products for peritoneal dialysis:

stay•safe system

The heart of the stay•safesystem is the so called DISC, a central control switch regulating all treatment steps and using PIN technology for safe disconnection. Operating errors are essentially excluded. Clamps and breaking cones are not necessary. The new CAPD system generation stay•safe is manufactured from Biofine, a material developed by Fresenius Medical Care. Biofine is environmentally friendly and free from plasticizers such as DEHP.

A.N.D.Y.•disc system

The A.N.D.Y.•disc system is similar to the stay•safe system but made of polyvinylchloride.

DISC technology: No clamps – just turn

With a simple control switch regulating all treatment steps, patients will never have to worry about clamping the wrong lines, or getting where they are in the sequence, or risk potential exposure to infection when they disconnect. Guided through the exchange, patient's compliance is more certain and their training and education is simplified.

PIN technology: Ensuring safe disconnection

Our patented system of automatic disconnection combined with built-in disinfection gives unique safety to your patients.
The PIN system automatically closes the catheter extension before disconnecting and thus limits the risk of infection. It is available for CAPD, APD and pediatric systems.

Biofine

Biofine is a material developed from Fresenius Medical Care research. It is environmentally friendly and free from plasticizers such as DEHP, thus an ideal material to use with CAPD and APD systems. Biofine is available in both PD systems sleep•safe and stay•safe.
