Since the formation of the Company in 1996, Fresenius Medical Care's ordinary and preference shares have been traded on both the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse – FWB) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). On the NYSE, our ordinary and preference shares are listed in the form of American Depositary Shares (ADS), with one ADS representing one share. The first day of trading in the Company's ordinary shares was October 1 on the NYSE, and October 2, 1996 on the FWB. Following an initial public offering, preference shares began trading on the NYSE on November 25, and on the FWB on November 27, 1996

As of September 20, 1999, our ordinary shares were included in the DAX (Deutscher Aktienindex), the index of the 30 blue-chip German companies.
