Fresenius Medical Care (FME), the world's leading provider of products and services for individuals with renal diseases, is pleased to share that our company and our Management Board Chair and CEO, Helen Giza, was named by The Women’s Edge in partnership with The Boston Globe for the first time to its annual Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list. Fresenius Medical Care ranked #4.
CEO Helen Giza is in her second year leading Fresenius Medical Care. Prior to that, she was Chief Financial Officer at Financial Medical Care. Under her leadership, FME has continued to innovate in kidney care, focusing on successfully transforming the company, driving growth forward, and expanding the use of data-driven insights and digital health technologies to enhance patient outcomes. She has also emphasized fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, with a focus on increasing opportunities for women in leadership.
By end of 2023, 61% of our managers were female while women accounted for 70% in the global workforce underscoring the company’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The Women’s Edge is a Boston-based nonprofit organization devoted to advancing women in leadership positions. This is the 24th year it has released its Top 100 list, which was created through a nomination process and includes for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. In addition to revenue or operating budget, factors considered in the evaluation included workplace and management diversity, board makeup, and innovative projects.
