Accordingly, Fresenius Medical Care has implemented policies, internal procedures and systems in order to ensure compliance with applicable trade laws and regulations, such as sanctions, customs regulations and export controls. Furthermore, Fresenius Medical Care conducts regular internal risk assessments, and periodically reviews the policies, internal procedures and systems to ensure that they are in line with applicable legal requirements and tailored to the company’s risk profile.
Fresenius Medical Care has appointed a full-time dedicated Global Head of Trade Governance & VP and a team of trade governance lawyers and professionals. The Global Head of Trade Governance & VP is a senior position within the Global Legal Department, reporting directly to the Global General Counsel & EVP and with access to the Management Board. The Global Head of Trade Governance & VP and his team work across Fresenius Medical Care’s business regions and functions in partnership with Fresenius Medical Care’s Legal and Compliance departments, Global Internal Audit, Global Internal Controls and other functions.
Fresenius Medical Care carefully selects and monitors its business partners and contractually requires them to comply with applicable sanctions, customs regulations and export controls.
