Our global compliance program comprises the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct which covers topics that are relevant for our business - from patient care, quality, anti-corruption and bribery to health and safety, data privacy or environmental protection.
Our compliance program also includes our commitment to respect material human rights with regard to topics such as working conditions, non-discrimination and grievance mechanisms. Fresenius Medical Care is committed to fair and responsible business and prohibits all forms of bribery and corruption.
The guidelines of our Code of Ethics and Business Conduct are mandatory for all the Company’s employees and managers, including members of the Management Board. The Code also applies to the operations of all direct and indirect subsidiaries that are majority-owned or controlled by us in some other way.
Considerable training and intensified internal communication are part of our global compliance program to introduce and engross our Code of Business Conduct to every employee on a regular basis. Likewise, we expect Business Partners to adhere to the principles stated in the Code of Business Conduct. The compliance program considers regional distinctions without contradicting this code. Fresenius Medical Care periodically reviews and modifies its compliance program to ensure that its content and implementation procedures are in line with local legal requirements.
